Indonesia is currently in between Stages Three and Four of the Demographic Transition Model. Indonesia's population pyramid from 2010 best matches with the typical one of Stage Three. Also, birth and death rates best fit in averages for Stage Three (CBR decreasing from the forties to the teens and the CDR below eight). However, NIR, TFR, and Life Expectancy Rates belong in Stage Four. By 2025, the population pyramid shows the country will be completely in Stage Four, but currently Indonesia is in both Stage Three and Four of the DTM.
