The president of Afghanistan, Ashraf Ghani, met with Taliban personnel for a meeting of formal peace. The UN encouraged Afghanistan to meet with the Taliban and Pakistan representatives in effort to close the amount of hate that the people of Afghanistan currently have towards those of Pakistan. Pakistan is widely loathed for aiding and abetting the Taliban, who were recently engaged in an especially bloody fighting season. Ghani has been trying to moderate Afghanistan’s traditional habit of blaming Pakistan for every terrorist outrage. Chinese and American diplomats were also involved in the meeting, highlighting the powerful international consensus over the need for a political deal to end the long war in Afghanistan. The Taliban is currently torn and Pakistani and Afghan officials said there would be further meetings after Ramadan ends. Their talks could drive further defections from the Taliban.

It takes communication for a good relationship, and I believe that Afghanistan and Pakistan are setting a good example for a step in the right direction.
